After a few touch and go days in Byron Bay, the weather turned out well for Sam and Greg’s big day…

They were married by Chiquita Mitchell at the wonderful Figtree restaurant in Ewingsdale, Byron Bay. The guys at Figtree work so hard to make sure everyone has a perfect wedding day at their venue. Sam & Greg had a very fun theme going with their wedding, with guests encouraged to wear outrageous glasses and even wigs and props during the reception! As he always does a great job, I thought I’d also mention Pip, the DJ for the night from Byron Audio. Here is a look at just a few of the photos…

Two Ballina locals tied the knot recently in an emotional, yet very relaxed and fun filled day…A threatening thunderstorm conveniently moved out to sea to create a gorgeous day for Alli & Clay as they got married at Dunes on Shelly Beach. The celebrant was a long time family friend, Kerrie Fairlie who conducted a very personal and heart-felt ceremony. Here’s a few of their photos..

A few days ago I battled the rain and wind to to meet up and spend some time with a 10 week old baby called Sammy and his lovely mum, Nerida.

At 10 weeks, the world is already a fascinating place full of amazing colours, lights, sounds, people – and that’s just in the lounge room….!

I recently photographed one of the most intimate weddings you can get. Richard & Kobi got married in the lush heart of the gorgeous Byron @ Byron Resort & Spa in Byron Bay. They are a couple that have been together for quite some years and yet you would think they fell in love yesterday….

They are obviously very much in love and felt that the time was now right to get married. It was so special to be a part of their wedding ceremony. I wasn’t just the photographer, but also an official witness! Michelle Shannon led the ceremony in her usual, beautiful, warm and professional manner. Here’s a look at a few of the photos.

Sara & Nathan

I only met Nathan the day before the wedding. The first thing we did is have a race down the street where he was staying – him on his rickshaw and me on my scooter! Sara wasn’t able to be there so I didn’t see her until the next day when she looked stunning as she walked down Tallow Beach, Byron Bay towards Cosy Corner.

Sonja and John from Byron & Beyond Weddings & Events did a wonderful job of creating a simple, but very elegant wedding setting nestled in Cosy Corner (no mean feat considering the long walk from the car park!) and Brent Jones conducted the ceremony with his usual great humour, heartfelt words and warm smile. Nathan & Sara are a fun, warm loving couple who are so obviously very much in love with each other. Here’s a sneek peek at some of their photos…

The 19th Edition of The Northern Star 2011 Wedding Handbook is out and I have the cover image! The cover shot is of the lovely couple, Brooke & Dean whose wedding blog is here. The Handbook is an A5 glossy info of the wedding services available in Byron Bay, Lismore, Ballina and the general Northern Rivers Region. To get a free copy, just walk into any one of the Byron Bay, Ballina or Lismore branches of The Northern Star (local paper offices).

Christmas House 2011

The wonderful Gerry & Terry Bertoli have done it again. They have transformed their Suffolk Park house into a Christmas wonderland…. This is the 5th year I have had the privilege of taking the ‘official’ photo for the house. Both Gerry & Terry have overcome illness this year to work hard on getting the house ready with some 20,000 lights for December 1st. People come from all over to see the house. There’s a warm fuzzy feeling when you see the faces on kids (and adults!) light up and smile at the sight of the house.

Terry and Gerry are also helping the Byron Bay Hospital Auxiliary. Three years ago they installed a donation box and have raised an average of $1500 each year. The house is in Teak Circuit in Baywood Chase (Suffolk Park), Byron Bay. Come and visit!

Gold Coast Model Shoot

This group was specially organised with models and hair & makeup stylists so the photographers could have creative freedom to direct and shoot the models.

Leah & Clive

Here are a small selection of photos from Leah & Clive’s recent wedding at Suffolk Park, Byron Bay.

Leah & Clive had a very laid back intimate wedding with only very close family & friends. The ceremony was held at the back of their holiday apartment and photos were on the beach and in and around the reception area. It was a rainy/windy day on the beach which made for some good Mary Poppins style photos of the bridemaids! Also Leah was determined to ‘trash the dress’ during the reception by leaping into the sea with her new husband – and that’s exactly what she did! Lots of love, laughter and joy!

Brooke & Dean

Another amazing wedding. What can I say? With an outdoor garden wedding planned, it poured with rain only 40 minutes before the ceremony….. however, nature was very very kind and cleared the skies and dried out the chairs for a perfect blue sky wedding.

140 or so local friends and family enjoyed a lovely intimate ceremony lead by the lovely Michelle Shannon. After some casual and fun photos, there was a wonderful candlelit evening reception around the pool and the stunning family home.
